As the name implies, Freedom International Hospital (FIH) was an idea and a dream in the wake of the freedom attained by the people of South Sudan after a long and bloody struggle. Although the conception of the idea was in 2008, that is before referendum, but as South Sudanese, we knew we were heading towards a new state of our own, given the dynamics of political events in the Sudan.  Indeed, there was a strong conviction that South Sudan would be free in 2011 following the exercise of self determination, and indeed Freedom was realised.
